Have you ever noticed that many of the world’s religions each have their own food laws?  Hinduism. Judaism. Islam and others…

Christianity is different.  It’s all about food freedom. Because…

Christianity is about a relationship.

Christianity is not about performance. It’s about position. It’s about who we are in Christ.

The apostle Paul uses the expressions “in Christ” and “in Him” approximately 143 times in his epistles to the church age believers.

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

2 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Christianity is also about design.  Living aligned with God’s design.

Food is no different. There’s freedom when we live aligned with God’s design for our physical nourishment…

  • Freedom from chronic, degenerative diseases
  • Freedom from guilty eating
  • Freedom from food addictions
  • Freedom from perfectionistic, legalism with dieting
  • Freedom from eating disorders
  • Freedom from emotionally driven unhealthy food choices
  • Freedom to enjoy God’s abundance
  • Freedom to share food as ministry
  • Freedom to use food to share His story

The list doesn’t end there. There’s freedom when we live aligned with God’s design for our finances…our marriages…You get it.

Freedom from…

Freedom to…

Let’s look at the topic of plant-only eating (veganism) within this context of God’s design.  This next 4-part article series will take a deeper look at four reasons Christians should not be vegans.  All four reasons reflect a comprehensive look at God’s design.

Veganism is defined as …”The practice or way of life of abstaining from the consumption and/or use of all animal products”.

REASON #1 – Scripture does not support veganism

REASON #2 – Science does not support veganism

REASON #3 –  History does not support veganism

REASON #4 – Health does not support veganism

The goal of this 4-part series (that can be a controversial topic) for some, is not to anger, incite or cause conflict, but rather to clarify, bring freedom and understanding to who God is and His design for food, so Christians can be encouraged, equipped and empowered to live in freedom aligned with that design!!
