PART 1 – Three in One
God’s design can be found in everything He created—from the vastness of the universe to the simplicity of our daily bread. One aspect of who He is – the Trinity – is pictured in our food! When we look at natural, whole foods like grains, eggs, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seed, we discover a striking pattern: each has three distinct parts, each with a vital purpose.
These three parts mirror the Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—three in one.
- Outer Covering – Protection – God the Father
- Inner Nourishment – Provision – Jesus the Son
- Energy Source – Power – The Holy Spirit
🌾 1. The Grain of Wheat
A grain of wheat consists of three key components:
- Bran – the tough outer shell that protects the seed.
- Germ – the provision of life, rich in nutrients and healthy fats.
- Endosperm – the energy supply powerhouse, full of carbohydrates for fuel.
Each part is essential. Remove one, and the nutritional value is compromised. Wheat today is now processed, fortified, enriched, and no longer the same nutritional value or function. Instead, grains should be soured or sprouted to release the nutrients. Real bread is a reflection of God’s wholeness.
- God the Father is the Bran – our Protection, surrounding us with strength and safety.
Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
- Jesus the Son is the Germ – our Provision, the life-giving center of our faith.
John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’”
- The Holy Spirit is the Endosperm – our Power Source, energizing and sustaining us daily.
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…”

🥚 2. The Egg: The Blueprint of Life
The egg is another beautiful picture of divine design. It includes:
- Shell – the outer barrier that protects the contents inside.
- Yolk – the nutrient-rich core, packed with the provision of life-giving fats and vitamins.
- White (Albumen) – the supportive layer, filled with protein rich power to sustain growth.
Together, these elements nurture new life—just like the three persons of the Trinity nurture our spiritual rebirth.
- God the Father is the Shell – our Protector, giving form and structure.
Psalm 121:7–8 “The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
- Jesus the Son is the Yolk – our Provider, full of grace and truth.
Matthew 11:28–30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
- The Holy Spirit is the White – our Empowerer, preparing and fueling our growth.
John 14:26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.”
🍎 3. The Fruit: A Sweet Reminder of God’s Triune Nature
Every fruit has three essential parts:
- Skin – the protective layer, often packed with antioxidants.
- Flesh – the nourishing provision, sweet fruit we enjoy.
- Seed – the source of reproduction, carrying the power for new life.

This triune pattern once again mirrors God’s nature:
- God the Father is the Skin – our Shield, safeguarding us from destruction.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
- Jesus the Son is the Flesh – our Sustenance, who came to give us life and life abundantly.
John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
- The Holy Spirit is the Seed – our Power, planting purpose and bearing fruit in and through us.
Galatians 5:22–23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…”
✨ Created to Reflect the Creator
In all of creation, God has woven reminders of who He is. The threefold structure of food is more than science—it is a sacred symbol. Just as we need the whole grain, the whole egg, and the whole fruit for complete nourishment, we need the whole God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—for complete spiritual wholeness.
Let your meals become moments of worship.
Let your nourishment remind you of His protection, provision, and power for everyday and for eternity!!
