When it comes to weight loss there’s no shortage of advice, hacks, how to’s and the latest strategy, app or product for instant results!

How do we sift through all this noise?  How do we make sense of all the options bombarding us with the latest hacks for:

  • Losing unwanted belly fat
  • Turning on fat burning mode all day
  • Increasing energy levels
  • Reversing menopausal weight gain
  • Crushing sugar/food cravings

#1Determine if weight loss advice is accurate

and then… 

#2Decide if it’s something that would work for you? 

When evaluating any weight loss tips, plans, programs, memberships, apps, strategies, etc…  If you can answer “Yes” to these three questions, it has the potential to be a great option!!  

Because…

A “Yes” to these three questions means you would be far more likely to:

  • Experience long-term, sustainable results 
  • Address the real reasons (underlying causes) for weight concerns 
  • Prevent even more serious health issues in the future!

Here you go… The Three Truth Tests Weight Loss Advice:

#1 – Can it be personalized?

Does the weight loss option use the same recommendations for everyone, applying to any stage of life, no matter what their health profile, age, gender, etc.?  If so, stay away!   Or does it claim to be personalized but really only makes a few minor adjustments to the overwhelmingly general plan?

#2 – Is it a lifestyle?

Can you follow this advice long-term?  Does the plan, program have an expiration date?  Something that is a 30, 60, 90 day plan may provide short term “benefits”, but as soon as the program expires clients return to former health or weight issues!  Is the advice so exact that it can’t possibly be followed for more than a week or a month?  Do you see yourself following this same advice/program a year from now?

#3 – Does it go beyond the “calories in/calories out” model?

Basic weight loss math is not enough to make a long-term lasting results in your health and weight.  The outdated energy model of calories in, calories out doesn’t take into account the foundations of metabolics (blood sugar, energy generation, digestion, detoxification, hormone balance).  When a plan/program only addresses the math,  metabolic health is never rebuilt/restored and further health/weight issues emerge later down the road!
